Synopsis
Kangawa Bridge (tentative name) of Jyou-Shinetsu Highway, under construction in Nagano prefecture, is a continuous RC arch bridge of 20 spans and 714.5m in total length. These arch rib are 60cm in minimum thickness and are well-set by upper formworks. Accordingly the compaction work of placing concrete was severe. Then, for the purpose oh the cance- llation compaction work and to examine the possibility of the rational construction, Super Workable Concrete which could be placed easily without vibration was applied ay one span in this construction experimentally. This report focuses on several construction works as followsFthe mix proportion of concrete, the quality control of concrete, the site measurement of the thermal stress and the lateral pressure agaist formwork, the reduction of arch rib section and the rational construction in the future.
