Control of Cracking in Concrete

Synopsis
Techniques which have been used to reduce shrinkage cracking and thermal cracking in concrete are reviewed. Though several methods to reduce cracking have been proposed in guidelines or papers, these methods are not always effective at job sites. The reasons why they are not always effective are analyzed and it is indicated that mwchanisms of cracking are not fully understood yet.
