- Recently, construction of new prestressed concrete bridges using external prestressing has been increasing. This paper describes the recent trend in the design and construction method for external prestressed concrete bridges and introduces some new typical bridges.The trend in rehabilitation of existing concrete bridges by external prestressing is also described.
