Synopsis
In this report, the simplified method to calculate the deformation at flexural yielding is investigated, which can be applicable to RC members with high strength materials. For the columns under high axial compression, moment vs. curvature relationship should be calculated with analysis based on linear strain distribution over the depth, because compressive yielding may occur prior to tensile yielding. Deformation at flexural yielding of the beam is considerably affected by slip-out of longitudinal reinforcements, but its influence is small in the column.
