Synopsis
There is much lapilli north Akita are in Japan, which is volcanic lava sediment. It is porous, and has high absorption (68.97%) and low density (1.18g/cm3). The properties of concrete using lapilli as coarse aggregate were shown. The test result of impact absorption, elastic repulsion and skid resistance on a surface of concrete plate which lapilli was exposed by washed finish were high level. The growth height of plant on the concrete plate and performance of early recovery of nature in the irrigation canal that was constructed with the plate were superior to the case of ordinary concrete. Finally, the applications of environmentally-friendly material characteristics of the concrete using lapilli for pedestrian pavements in a park and embedment forms in a check dam against debris flow were introduced.
