Synopsis
The Working Group on Durability Mechanics (WG 3) within the Japan Concrete Institute (JCI) Technical Committee on Time Dependent Behavior of Cement-Based Materials (JCI-TC 061 A) re-defined "Durability Mechanics" which is originally proposed by Coussy and Ulm in 2001, aiming the systematization of durability of concrete and concrete structures from the point of view of coupling of many kinds of deteriorating phenomena. Additionally, based on this definition, existing researcehs are exemplified in the system of "Durability Mechanics" and typical researches of Durability Mechanics are introduced. Accordingly, the importance and the orientation of systematization of "Durability Mechanics" is pointed out.
