Synopsis
The Technical Committee on Revision of JCI Guidelines for Control of Cracking of Mass Concrete pursues activities toward the issue of a revision of the current 2008 JCI Guidelines in 2016. The main investigated subjects for this revision are the enhancement of estimation equations for the early age properties of concrete, the improvement of simple equations for estimating the thermal cracking index, the incorporation of delayed ettringite formation into the guidelines, gathering of information on estimation methods of properties of concrete and execution methods in foreign countries, and clarification of differences of standards and specifications between Japan and foreign countries. A summary of the subjects investigated by the Committee is presented.
