Concrete Journal, Vol.55, No.12, Dec. 2017

Synopsis
JCI Guidelines for Control of Cracking of Mass Concrete 2016 were published on November 2016 based on the results of the committee activities on research survey for two years and revision work for two years, following the first issue of the Guidelines on March 1986 and the publication of the revised edition on November 2008. The major aspects of the revised Guidelines are as follows; (1)Improvement of accuracy and extension of application range of design values for early age properties of concrete, (2)Proposal of revised simple estimation equation for thermal cracking index. (3)Proposal of revised equation for predicting thermal crack width, (4)Provision of items with respect to prevention of DEF cracking and (5)Appending of reference materials with respect to backgrounds and those related items of newly regulated provisions and commentaries, and technical matters concerning measures for control of thermal cracking in consideration of application of the 2016 Guidelines to overseas constructions.
Keywords:
