Synopsis
Early opening to traffic concrete pavement (ONE DAY PAVE) was registered to the New Technology Information System (NETIS) of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in August 2013. Since then, the roster of executed public work orders for this type of pavement has been steadily growing, with total construction area steadily increasing year after year until fiscal 2016 (the latest year for which this data is currently available). ONE DAY PAVE technology has been applied and deployed in various ways, and many of these achievements have been presented in reports. Some examples are the development of eco-friendly ONE DAY PAVE using blended cement and recycled aggregate, examples of construction for sharp curves, steep slopes, and expressways, and study of control methods for flexural strength in relation to the timing of opening to traffic. This paper, which covers recent developments related to ONE DAY PAVE, introduces advances in the popularization of this type of pavement and existing achievements.
