Synopsis
The crack control system developed by Yamaguchi Prefecture became the cornerstone for the development of a system for quality and durability attainment of Tohoku Regional Development Bureau. To truly ensure the durability of concrete structures in the various regions of Japan, a country with a great diversity of environmental conditions, it is necessary for concrete structures to be designed and built properly, based on due consideration of the environmental conditions of the region and the conditions under which the structure will be used. This paper introduces the quality and durability attainment system of Tohoku Regional Development Bureau, with particular focus on crack control measures and frost damage prevention measures.
