Synopsis
This paper gives an overview of the evaluation of the chloride transport resistance of concrete and the results of an investigation of cathodic protection methods as an elemental technology for realizing effective maintenance and management of concrete structures. Regarding the evaluation of chloride transport resistance, the results of round robin tests conducted on the non-steady-state migration test are presented, and regarding cathodic protection methods, performance-based design and maintenance management methods for the future are outlined.
