Historical heritage of Nagasaki
A World Heritage Site is a treasure shared by all of humanity that has stood the test of time born out of natural beauty or cultural masterpiece. Registration is run by UNESCO (United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization) through the World Heritage Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage.
Currently, in Nagasaki City "Churches and Christian Sites in Nagasaki" as well as "Sites of Japan’s Meiji Industrial Revolution: Kyushu-Yamaguchi and Related Areas" have been placed on the World Heritage Tentative List, and work for the quick registration of these sites is currently underway.
