Ravindra Gettu

Professor Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai

He has been active in RILEM, the International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials, Structures and Systems based in France, and is currently the Chair of its Technical Activities Committee. He is also an Associate Editor of the ASCE Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering and the Materials and Structures Journal, and is on the editorial boards of several other journals. He is also involved in the activities of the Indian Concrete Institute through the organization of seminars and conferences.

He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the Cracow University of Technology, in Krakow, Poland, another M.S. degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his Ph.D. from Purdue University. After completing his graduate studies he has held academic positions at the Colorado School of Mines and at Penn State University before returning (in 1994) to Purdue University.
