Rationalization of the Construction of Reinforced Concrete Pier by the Half Precast Method

Synopsis
The half precast method for pier is a labor and time saving construction method using precast concrete box included hoop reinforcements. The construction and removal of form and the placing of hoop reinforcements in site unnecessary compared with the coventional method. For the first time, this method was applied to a pier of the cable stayed bridge in Tomioka Lakewood Golf Course. This report describes the outline of design and construction systems of reinforced concrete pier by this method.
