Synopsis
Several componential analyses are used for concrete as usage, but since most of them are laboratory instruments, on-site analysis was very difficult. Recently, portable X-ray fluorescence analyzer have been developed, this enables us to carry out elemental analysis at the field. On-site analysis will provide improvement of working efficiency and the maintenance cost. It is said that energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence analyzers are not applicable for light elements such as sulfur or chlorine, but accurate experimental results were obtained to set proper measurement conditions. This paper introduces applicability of portable energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence analyzer for on-site elemental analysis of concrete and availability of the system.
