Development of Grout Filled Anchoring Method for High Strength Reinforcing Bar of Large Diameter

Synopsis
High strength and large diameter reinforcing bars such as yield strength of 685 N/mm2 and 51 mm diameter will be applied more frequently for bridge piers, etc. because such reinforcing bars are now being produced even by electric furnace mills. For applying high strength reinforcing bars with large diameter, longer length for anchorage of reinforcing bar shall be needed, because larger anchoring force is required. It could be difficult to apply long reinforcing bars in bridge girder where bridge pier is connected. When conventional anchoring method by bending rebar is applied, it may cause some problems, such as lower workability and quality in performance, because of congested reinforcing bars. To solve these problems, Grout Filled Anchoring Method for High Strength Reinforcing Bar of Larger Diameter is developed. This report intriduces the outline, the anchoring performance and applying procedures of the method.
