Synopsis
The first version of Design Guideline of R/C Beam-Column Joint using Mechanical Anchorages, which was published in 2006.1, is revised. In the new guideline, the correspondence to design practice is enhanced by means of such as extension of the applicable range based on new experimental results and adjustment to the design by the Technical Standard. Revised design issues on the beam-column joint include: (1) addition of equations for required joint confining reinforcement based on the demand and capacity, (2) modification of beam, column reinforcement anchorage design, (3) addition of other joint types, such as sub-beam reinforcement anchorage, (4) modification of SRC beam-column joint design to include T-, L-shaped joints, (5) addition of design procedure corresponding to the Technical Standard, (6) addition of design using high-strength concrete. This paper summarizes design issues revised in the Design Guideline 2010.
