Synopsis
In bridges and tunnels, hammering tests are carried out to prevent damage to third parties caused by spalling of concrete pieces. The hammering test is a technique for checking for defects. Using an aerial inspection platform to access the concrete surface, the inspector directly taps the surface of the concrete with a hammer and listens to the generated sound. This technique has the disadvantages of not yielding objective results and being dangerous and arduous. Here, we introduce a quantification technology of impact acoustic method using artificial intelligence, and inspection automation technology using non contact acoustic inspection method as alternative methods to the hammering test.
