Synopsis
The “Subcommittee for the Revision of Recommendation for Design and Construction of Electrochemical Corrosion Control Method” under the Concrete Committee of the Japan Society of Civil Engineers newly revised the “Recommendation for Design and Construction of Electrochemical Corrosion Control Method” established in 2001, and published it newly under the name of “Guideline for Electrochemical Corrosion Control Method” in October 2020. In this revision, based on past application cases and the latest knowledge, the system has been revised to a performance verification type design, construction, and maintenance system. The Guideline is composed of two parts: A general section and a construction method-specific standards section. The former describes common items of the electrochemical corrosion control method, and the latter describes the standard for each method (cathodic protection method, desalination method, realkalization method, and electrodeposition method). In addition, appendices presenting information that is useful in practice, such as application examples and related reference materials, are included. This paper presents an overview with a focus on the general section.
