Synopsis
Construction work using 3D printing with cementitious materials is rapidly increasing around the world. In Japan, which is no exception to this trend, information collection and analysis are being conducted mainly by research committees that are considering application to concrete structures, and the number of actual application cases is gradually increasing. This paper presents an overview of this technology and touches upon the current state of its application in Japan and the new possibilities that this technology opens. Further, it reports on five R&D projects conducted by the authors to uncover new possibilities of this technology and expand its applications.
