- Synopsis
- To assess in advance the validity of the construction plan for locations at high risk of incomplete filling during concrete placement, a flow analysis was conducted using a three-dimensional model that simulated concrete placement and vibration induced by a vibrator. The analysis confirmed that, with appropriate vibrator insertion, construction could be carried out without incomplete filling; however, it also showed that voids are likely to form when compaction is insufficient, particularly beneath the main reinforcement. Based on these findings, an appropriate vibrator insertion plan was established to intensively compact high-risk locations during construction, and reliable construction control was achieved by implementing multiple measures against insufficient compaction, thereby enabling the placement of high-quality concrete.
