- Synopsis
- TC232A, the Technical Committee on Construction of Literature Database and AI Application in Concrete Engineering (Chair: Shinichiro Okazaki, Kagawa University), was established in FY2023 with the aim of developing a foundation for promoting the application of AI and machine learning technologies in concrete engineering. Over a two-year period, the committee surveyed existing databases in Japan and overseas, digitized experimental data on compressive strength, shrinkage, carbonation, chloride attack, and structures from papers published in journals of the Japan Concrete Institute, and developed and verified prediction models using various machine learning algorithms. This paper presents an overview of the results of the committee’s activities.
