Student tour

August 22 (Sat) - 23 (Sun), 2009

The Japan Concrete Institute (JCI) Chubu branch and the organizing committee of ConMat’09 have planned to have a Student Tour in Takayama. This is a special opportunity to visit to Takayama and Shirakawa-go that is the World Heritage. You can meet a part of Japanese life style and mind. Mainly, all attendance at ConMat'09 and student members of the JCI Chubu branch are able to join this tour. Please join this tour!

1. Capacity:

- Participants in ConMat’09: 30 persons.
- Student members of JCI Chubu branch: 30 persons.

2. Schedule:

Day 1st, August 22, 2009

• Departure from JR Nagoya station (8:30)
• Sightseeing of Takayama City http://www.hida.jp/english/index.htm
• Lectures by Prof. N. Banthia and so on
• Dinner
• Lodgment at Takayama city

Day 2nd, August 23, 2009

• Departure from a hotel in Takayama (9:00)
• Technical tour in evacuation facilities of Hida Tunnel (10.7km long)
• Sightseeing of World Heritage Historic Villages of Shirakawa-go http://www.vill.shirakawa.gifu.jp/e/
• Arrival at JR Nagoya station (18:00)
• Arrival at Nagoya Congress Center (18:15)

3. Tour registration:

The tour registration was closed on June 19, because 30 persons were accepted.
